Energy Boosting Smoothie

This energy booster is perfect for your post work out pick up, or just instead of your standard morning coffee. Try this smoothie to kick-start your day!

It serves 2 people but I tend to have it all myself  because I need that fullness in the morning 

I have included the ingredients and recipe below and added a few interesting facts about the nutritional value going into this booster!

INGREIDENTS:

1 beetroot chopped

[Beetroot boosts your stamina by making muscles more fuel efficient. It is also alkaline meaning it helps your recovery if you have worked out. Beetroot is the vegetable of blood flow, increasing it to your brain and around your body!]

1/4 watermelon chopped

[Watermelon is a great source for hydration!]

2 plums (take the seed out)

[Plums add some sweetness and help balance blood pressure]

1 stub of ginger, size of half your index finger

[Ginger- fantastic immune booster and bacteria fighter]

1 tbsp chia seeds

[Chia seeds are a rich source of protein]

1 tsp maca powder

[Maca is brilliant for ENERGY! It’s known to enhance stamina!]

1 tbsp cinnamon

[Cinnamon is another great source of energy!! And also anti-inflammatory]

1 tbsp hemp seeds

[Hemp seeds are packed with protein and easily digestible too! They are also rich in fibre and several other minerals]

1/2 avocado

[Avocado is a natural detoxifier, improves digestion, and is food for your skin]

1/2 cup of milk of your choice (I used coconut milk)

METHOD:

Bang all these ingredients in the blender and whizz it up till it’s as creamy as you desire! Have an energetic day!
